La Fauquette is one of Gahier’s most traditional and celebrated wines. Made from Melon à Queue Rouge, a rare local varietal of Chardonnay, it is aged sous voile (under flor) for seven years in 400-litre old oak barrels, without topping up during maturation. Gold in colour, with intense aromas of toasted walnuts, spice, orchard fruit, and salinity. Bone dry on the palate, with firm grip and acidity. An exceptional oxidative wine with remarkable ageing potential.
