Yannick Meckert, Grrrr!!! 2022

Grape: Pinot Noir 

Region: Obernai, Alsace, France

Pinot Noir hand-harvested from two parcels: one forty years old, planted over granite; the other over volcanic sandstone soils in Alsace. The grapes were fermented for 14 days as whole bunches with indigenous yeasts. A barrel of Pinot Noir from Burgundy was added from Yannick’s friend Bastian Wolber. The wine is fermented as whole bunches for two weeks before élevage in old barrels and sandstone amphorae for a year of rest. Dark fruits on the palate with herbal undertones and savoury notes.
