Yannick Meckert, Stupeur et Tremblement 2024

Grape: Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir

Region: Obernai, Alsace, France

Gewurtraminer hand harvested from 50 year old vines planted over clay and limestone soils in Overnai. The grapes were macerated as whole bunches for one week and fermented with natural yeasts, before being pressed off into old barrels for a year of rest. A small fraction of Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir was also added to the wine. Pinky-red in the glass, slightly muted aromas with a vibrant palate of blood orange and spice on the palate.
